Elder's remark about contributions not being made

i am still in and was assigned to collect the contribution after the meeting.

i checked the boxes with another brother and there was nothing inside.

no contributions were made that day.

i was born in 1987 in nsw, australia into a jehovahs witness household (my parents were baptised mere months before i was born) with 2 older siblings (brother and sister) and in time a younger brother.

i had a pretty happy childhood, we moved to north brisbane by the time i was 5 years old.

ls homosexuality really normal?

The beauty of this life is you can change the channel Simon and no one forces you to watch them have sex in real life either. If anyone loses sleep over it then I would say that a fixation on "normal" is making them disturbed.

My Conclusion After Research

since leaving the jws i have looked into many beliefs and have come to this conclusion.. paganism has a high regard for women, as they worship goddesses and respect the female for the ability to give birth to new life.

christianity puts females in second place to males and blames women for male temptations which goes back to eve eating the fruit and tempting adam with it.

they also created a devil with the appearance of the pagan god pan and built churches on pagan worship sites so that people would still go there to worship, but within a christian building.. i have come to the conclusion that paganism versus christianity is about a battle of the sexes.. the fear of demonic forces is taught by religions to deter you from straying.

Question about an elder and if I am crazy

ok so i have a question.

i was a very, very true believer until i saw the child molesters in my hall and how that whole thing was handled.. my husband is older than i am and had been an elder for 12 when we married.

so fast forward to 06, we are in a hall where i thought all the elders were ok at the worst and great at the best.

Sorry for your pain. Too much information. I think people read this out of morbid curiosity. Just hang up and move on. You wind yourself up and make it worse. Posts like this are helpful because someone will read them and give good advice. For me it just becomes a blur after awhile as it shows repeated abuse and you enabling the creeps by returning to it. Take a breath and move on.

in fact the wts says that baptism as a jw is the mark mentioned at ezekiel 9:4-6. that people who are not will die forever at armageddon.. quote.

Exactly Blondie and I was shocked to read that their death is part of the sin atoning value of Christ's as they are one with him. That was just one thing that helped get me out of the cult!

When you were fully in, would you lie about how loving your congregation was?

not long ago my elder brother got very sick.

he was hospitalized for a few weeks and his jw wife and children were at his side often.

also, his non jw family was also bedside with him, siblings and parents.. his recollection involves asking us "don't you remember all the jws that came visiting me when i was sick?".

At first I made allowances based on the "wait on Jehovah" mantra when the congregation was a bunch of rude bastards. Once I learned TATT I didn't kiss ass anymore. I just dropped the pretense.

less than 5 hours ago my great dad fell asleep the last time :( still in a bit of a shock and sad that i will not see him again...i promised myself that once he is here no more, i will somehow make my move out of this organisation who kept us all captive believing in a fantasy of an everlasting life :( i am in a tricky situation, since raised as jw, still in, married to an active jw, and pretty sure that all in my social and family circle will turn their backs on me if i finally say goodbye to a fairytail ;(.

I guess we will all face this at sometime. I am certainly hoping for peace for you in this stressful situation. Think clearly and don't jump to the command of others to do anything you do not want to do. Those days are over.

It is more likely that 9/11 is a prime motivator followed closely by lawsuit judgements and settlements. 9/11 spooked them. They were too close to ground zero in a terrorist attack. I am sure they thought that the attack on the twin towers was from Satan and actually meant for them! I have no doubt. To thwart Satan, Jehoobie directed them to cash out and move.
